This past Friday, Anna (our new design intern) and I took a trip to the Brooklyn Museum to see the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit. We are constantly on the quest to research new trends in design, and also add to the product development team’s visual library.
The exhibit was, to say the least, dramatically bold and lush. Avante-garde and controversial in taste, Gaultier pushes society’s ideas about sex and exploration by using fashion as its conduit.
“… through twists, transformations, transgressions, and reinterpretations, he blurs the boundaries not only between cultures but also between the sexes, creating a new androgyny and subverting hypersexualized fashion codes.”
Featuring collections from 1970–Present, this exhibit speaks volumes on his mastery and grit. Key pieces for Madonna and Beyonce are on display as well.

This gallery is only a small collection of some key items from his collections. The concepts behind his work are truly inspiring and his love of the craft will keep you in awe.
